Accuplex

Enhanced Lyme detection on Antech’s Accuplex® platform

Accuplex is a reference laboratory test used to screen for Lyme disease, heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma.

Accuplex is raising the standard of care with its enhanced Lyme detection using C6

Lyme disease detection on Antech’s Accuplex now includes screening for antibodies to C6. The C6 peptide exists in the invariable region (IR6) of the VIsE surface lipoprotein of Borrelia burgdorferi and is only expressed following natural infection or exposure of a host. Therefore, a positive C6 result will not be reported from cross-reactivity with vaccinal antibodies.

The Most Advanced Technology For Lyme Detection

The 2018 ACVIM consensus update on Lyme borreliosis in dogs and cats indicates the utility of screening for C6 antibodies for the detection of Lyme disease. Antech Diagnostics is committed to the continued product enhancement of our diagnostic offerings in line with advances in clinical medicine and to address the increasing prevalence of infectious diseases. While a positive Lyme C6 result indicates natural infection or exposure, the majority of seropositive dogs do not develop clinical signs. The downloadable Accuplex Lyme Algorithm can guide you through a thorough diagnostic workup including an investigation into the presence or absence of proteinuria as recommended by the ACVIM guidelines.

More Sensitive Heartworm Detection

The Accuplex heartworm assay has demonstrated very high sensitivity when compared to other heartworm screening tests, even in infections with low worm burdens. The American Heartworm Society recommends a secondary confirmatory test for all positive samples. High sensitivity is paramount for screening tests, especially in heartworm endemic areas, making Accuplex the best diagnostic option available for your patients.

A Lyme-positive Test Identifies Exposure, Not Illness—THE MAJORITY OF DOGS NEVER GET SICK

Once a dog tests positive for Lyme disease, it is important to monitor for clinical signs such as lameness, joint swelling, fever, lethargy, and decreased appetite. Treatment is indicated in patients exhibiting clinical signs and/or renal proteinuria.

Highly Specific Detection Of E. Canis

Accuplex tests for the presence of Ehrlichia canis by detecting antibodies to a purified recombinant protein selected for its ability to detect acute exposure. The Accuplex assay is able to detect acute exposure to E. canis earlier than other commercially available tests. The selected antigen is also highly specific which minimizes the chance for cross-reactivity.

Early And Reliable Detection Of A. Phagocytophilum

Early detection of Anaplasma phagocytophilum infection is important to improve success in treatment and the Accuplex assay was able to detect A. phagocytophilum antibodies as early as 14 days post-infection.

Raising the Standard of Care with Accuplex Testing

In this one hour webinar, you will learn more about  Antech’s Accuplex which is a reference laboratory test used to screen for Lyme disease, heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma.

Lyme disease detection on the Accuplex platform now also screens for antibodies to C6. Lyme disease results will be reported as either positive or negative for the detection of antibodies against C6.
